-
Western Sydney International Airport Milestone: WSI has completed its 3.7km runway and key airside facilities. On track for a late 2026 opening, the curfew-free airport is expected to become a vital freight hub for NSW.
-
Shipping Line Rate Increases & Surcharges: From mid-June, major carriers (including MSC, COSCO, ANL, and others) have announced rate hikes of USD 200–500 per TEU and Peak Season Surcharges. OOCL has also applied rail surcharges between Melbourne and Adelaide. Equipment shortages—especially for 40′ containers out of China—are adding pressure.
-
Schedule Reliability & Service Changes: While global schedule reliability improved to 57.5%, blank sailings and softened demand continue in the Australia–New Zealand region. TS Lines, YML, and PIL have cancelled sailings. However, the A3N service will add a new direct call from Ningbo to Australia’s East Coast from 8 July.
